Archie Del Marez was a California entrepreneur and a self-made millionaire who developed and patented the CMOD digital heart pacemaker. In the 1980’s Archie, who was an avid sailor, moved to St. Lucia and built Xanadu as his private residence. He also purchased land around Rodney Bays lagoon and constructed the now famous Rodney Bay Marina, hence the nautical elements throughout the design of Villa Xanadu.

The unique and magnificent design of Villa Xanadu, in St Lucia was inspired by the famous domed city of pleasure, called Xanadu and created by the Mogul ruler Kubla Khan in China during the 12th century.

The Villa

Nestled in the hillside of exclusive residential area of Cap Estate is a dominated unique villa, set in over 1 acre of gardens with coconut palms and tropical plants, enjoying panoramic views over the Caribbean Sea. Upon entry to the property, you are welcomed through wooden double doors into a large landing area with views over the pool and terrace, including the Caribbean Sea below. At entrance level is guest cloakroom with a powder room. From the entrance steps lead down to the circular domed, spacious living area. Bi-fold doors open onto the terrace. One of the unique features is that the pool comes into the living room with pool bar stools inside! The kitchen adjoins the living room and has been completely modernized. There are quartz work surfaces and breakfast bar. The kitchen is fully equipped fitted and has a large fridge/freezer with an ice maker, dishwasher and microwave.
