Buying Property In St. Lucia

The Aliens Licence Process

In St Lucia in order for a foreigner (Non- Caricom National) to purchase property in Saint Lucia, they must apply for an Aliens Licence.

The Aliens Licence Process is now fast tracked and the licence can be granted in 8 weeks versus a year in the past. The Aliens Licence fee to purchase one acre of land would be US$2500.00. You first apply for a Certificate of Eligibility whereby you submit the due diligence requirements- ID, Police Certificate of Character, Bank Reference. Cost of the Certificate is US$3k.

Then one applies for the Aliens Licence.

Once the Aliens Licence has been granted, the foreigner will be given a free entry permit to St Lucia. This free entry permit will last for the duration of the licence.    So one does not have to apply for a visitor’s visa once you have purchased the property.
